Kirkcaldy Magic Circle has a long and rich history starting with it’s formation in 1942. The club name at the time was The Lang Toon Legerdemaniacs and was one of the founding members of the Scottish Association of Magical Societies.
As reported on the Scottish Association of Magical Societies website, Kirkcaldy Magic Circle has been mothballed due to a recent drop in active membership. Those members who continue to be active in magic have moved across to Perth Magic Circle.
Lifetime Forth Valley Magic Circle member Nick Richmond has been good enough to provide us with his recollection of his time at the club. We continue to piece together the history and would be grateful for any information anyone may have. Please contact the club secretary on secretary@forthvalleymagic.co.uk.
You can see Nick’s contribution on the Forth Valley Magic Circle History page. You should also check out Nick’s own website, the Ultimate Sean Connery Impersonator. Thanks again Nick.
We’ve created a new Youtube channel for presenting Forth Valley Magic Circle Youtube Videos.
We have started by adding an old video from Blackpool 2008. It is of our current Vice President’s wife Laura being hypnotised while unwinding in the Ruskin Bar. A fantastic weekend and a fantastic video.
We will be adding other videos to this channel including excerpts from our Tricks at the Tryst shows.
We’re proud to announce the launch of the Forth Valley Magic Circle Store. We have a range of merchandise available for members and non-members, with all profits from sales being returned to the club.
If you would like to purchase any official Forth Valley Magic Circle merchandise then visit our store page for more information or if you can’t wait visit our online store directly.
Go on, who wouldn’t want a pair of Forth Valley Magic Circle Boxer Shorts.
James Brown is a highly respected Close up Magician, Pick Pocket and Hypnotist based in Bournemouth Dorset. He was Magic Circle Close Up Magician of the Year 2006 and is an exceptional close up performer and lecturer.
James will be featured at the Tommy Frederick Lecture held on the 28th October 2009 by the Scottish Conjurors Association. This is the SCA’s annual Tommy Frederick Memorial Lecture to acknowledge the contributions of Tommy Frederick (Magic of Frederica by Lewis Ganson) to the world of magic in general, and the inspiration and mentoring he offered to magicians in the Glasgow area.
Forth Valley Magic Circle are pleased to announce that we have secured a lecture by the superb UK based French Magician Etienne Pradier.
Born in France, Etienne became fascinated by magic at an early age and rapidly made a name for himself as a truly gifted close-up magician that was assured to be “going somewhere.” And he did … twice! He moved to England and achieved international recognition as one of the world’s finest close-up table magicians. After only 3 years as a member of the elite ‘Magic Circle’, he was invited to take membership of the ‘Inner Magic Circle, with Gold Star’ in recognition of his excellence as a professional magician. Uniquely skilled, creative, charismatic and immensely entertaining, Etienne Pradier is now one of the UK’s most successful London UK based magicians.
Etienne Pradier will be lecturing as a guest of Forth Valley Magic Circle on the 8th February 2010. We will announce the venue and time at a later date.

Members and prospective members can now view the club’s constitution online. If you would like a prinatble version then you can download a PDF version of the FVMC constition
We contacted Jim Cuthbert to see if we could dig into some of the history behind Forth Valley Magic Circle. He kindly provided us with all the information he had available to him. It would seem that we are one of the youngest clubs in Scotland having been formed in 1978.
You can see the results of our history search on our Forth Valley Magic Circle History page. If you have any additional information then please contact our secretary on secretary@forthvalleymagic.co.uk.
