emblem_1Find a new home for that valued effect you’ve just retired from the act or just buy some more rubbish that’ll never see the light of day.

The Scottish Conjuror’s Association is proud to host the Scottish Mega Magic Auction on Sunday 1st November 2009 at 1.00pm at the Walton Conference Centre, Southern General Hospital, Glasgow, G514TF. Doors open at 12 noon for sellers to register lots and for buyers to view. The auction starts at 1pm with doors closing at 6pm. A £3.00 admission fee includes tea and coffee.

Enquires should be emailed to secretary@scottishconjurorsassociation.org.uk.

If you are a seller , report between Noon and 13.00 to be given a number. Auctioneers will then attempt to sell what they consider to be the 3 most sellable items from each seller in turn, before returning to seller number one, and continuing in this fashion.

Anything left unsold at 1700 is available for direct negotiation with the individual sellers. Buyers pay cash as each lot is sold. Sellers have to wait until close of auction for payment (-10% commission to SCA) There usually are bargains to be had. Lots of kids show props recently.

A Thank You To The Station Hotel

1d706d20The Landlords and staff of the Station Hotel have always been very generous in their support of the Forth Valley Magic Circle. As a result our members decided to express our gratitude by buying the landlord and his wife a small gift.

The club is grateful to member Drew Wilson for organising a delivery of flowers and chocolates from Flowers By Carolyn of Linlithgow. This evening we received a card from Lorraine, thanking us for our kind gesture.

We very much appreciate the support of the Station Hotel and hope our association continues for many years to come.

Dan Garret Lecture at Scottish Conjurer's Association

0

DGJosieA sizeable number of working magicians had let the Scottish Conjuror’s Association know that they were disappointed to miss out on visiting lecturers appearing in Glasgow on a Sunday afternoon (a historical tradition, meant to allow travel in daylight on 1960′s trunk roads!!).

To this end, we have arranged for Dan Garrett’s Lecture to be held on a SUNDAY EVENING in a bid to allow more people to attend. The Lecture will be held in the Walton Conference Centre in the grounds of the Southern General Hospital, Glasgow.

G51 4TF for SAT NAV will get you to the Southern , but the grounds are extensive. The Walton Centre is midway between the Govan Road and Hardgate road entrances. From Govan Road , head up the main drive, under the bridge, past helipad on Right, till the road takes a 90˚ turn. The Walton is 50 yards on your right. From Hardgate Road drive past the Maternity Unit, past two blocks of flats and the Walton is on your left, parking is on your right.

Hospital parking is free at weekends, but we may clash with visiting hours…Parking is available across the road from the Walton Centre. There is a carpark adjacent to the centre marked for pass holders only. Unlikely to be parking attendants around on a Sunday Evening, but…park here at your own risk!!!
